What will happen with my feedback?

Your feedback is important to us and will help develop the final design for Roy Lander Reserve. The final design will be available for the community and public to view in mid 2024. The final design will be added to the website.

Will the existing playground be removed?

No, the existing play equipment will be retained.

The cricket nets have reached thier end of life and will be removed. If cricket is not chosen as an option in this consultation then they will not be returned.

This upgrade will focus on active recreation upgrade additions.

    When is the upgrade happening?

Planning and design will be undertaken by the end of June 2024, with construction to be undertaken in the 2024/25 financial year.

Will there be shade, car parking and toilet included in the reserve?

The design will consider shade from existing trees and some additional trees will be planted as part of the upgrade.

Roy Lander Reserve is a neighbourhood level reserve. A public toilet and car parking are outside of the budget for this type of reserve upgrade.

    What will be included?

Key items proposed in the upgrade include active recreation and landscaping additions to the existing reserve.

The upgrade will include the demolition of the existing cricket net. If cricket is not selected as a majority preferred option through this consultation it will no be included for the upgrade of this reserve.

Irrigation across the site will also be upgraded in addition to the active recreation options.

For specific details on plans for this site, please check out the proposed active recreation options.

    Why is this upgrade occurring?

An Open Space Plan, to achieve an even spread of appealing and functional open spaces across the City was endorsed in June 2020. This reserve was endorsed for this upgrade to be carried out in 2024/25.

Council is consulting with the community to get their thoughts on the options presented.

This work is guided by the Open Space Framework. To find out more about scheduled upgrades in your area check out our Open Space Plan.
