Why do we need a Trail?

How was the artwork chosen for Option 2 - Trail with Australian Art?
An art tender was released in March 2023, and an artist was chosen to submit draft designs. Council staff worked with the artist to choose a variety of art forms to represent the artists, the reserves, and the surrounding streets that are named after them.
How was the route of the trail chosen?
The trail route links with existing pathways and footpaths and follows ‘goat tracks’ made by pedestrians. The trail links all four reserves.
When will this project begin?
The project will begin in late 2023, dependent on contractor availability and weather.
Will there be further public facilities added?
No, the trail utilises existing public facilities such as toilets and drink fountains. Additional seating along the trail is part of the project.
What will the trail be constructed of?
The trail be constructed using unsealed path material.
Will anything else be added if I choose Option 3 - No trail?
No work will be completed across any reserve. We will continue to maintain the reserves as they are.
