What is volunteering?

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. Volunteering and helping others can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.

How can you volunteer with the City of Marion?

Volunteering with us is easy. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, every one of us can make a difference through volunteering. We offer a variety of programs to volunteer in, such as the Community Bus, Libraries, Community Centres, Social Inclusion programs and Justice of the Peace. These varied places have just as many varied volunteers, and we encourage anyone with an interest to apply. If we cannot find a role suitable to you, we will endeavour to find a role outside our organisation.
