Consultation has concluded

About the Project

This project is now complete! A new public toilet was installed at Ballara Park during June 2023.  This was an election promise from the Labor Government for the seat of Gibson.

Community Consultation

The City of Marion consulted on two potential site options from 10 June – 8 July 2022:

- Option A: Close to the future new playspace

- Option B: Near Kelvin Avenue within the park

The consultation was promoted by:

  • Postcard delivered within 400m radius
  • Making Marion online information and survey
  • Sign on site
  • Social media posts

We received 27 responses to the online survey. The feedback showed that:

  • 67% of respondents support a public toilet at option A (next to the new play space)
  • A further 22% supported a toilet at Option B (next to Kelvin Avenue) and 11% do not support a public toilet at either location
  • 56% of respondents believe there is a need for toilet at Ballara Park
  • A further 15% do not think a toilet is needed, and 27% are unsure

The full findings from the online survey can be viewed:
