The City of Marion is installing larger stormwater culverts under Berrima Road to mitigate long-standing significant flooding issues in the area.

To facilitate this important infrastructure upgrade, Berrima Road will be closed to traffic and pedestrians from Patpa Drive to Bella Drive while works are ongoing.

Traffic management is being provided at the intersection of Edward Beck Drive and Young Street between 7 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 5 pm throughout the project to aid traffic flow. If possible, commuters are asked to please use the entrance/exit into Sheidow Park from the south. See Traffic Control Plan Here

** Urgent pedestrian update **

Please note, due to the redevelopment of Hugh Johnson Boulevard Reserve much of this recreation area is now a construction site and pedestrian access is restricted. Pedestrian access is not permitted near the stormwater works on Berrima Road. Pedestrians will be redirected along Patpa Road.

You can find out more about the work being done at Hugh Johnson Boulevard Reserve HERE.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback and for your patience regarding redirected traffic in the area, relating to the essential stormwater works.

Traffic control has been allocated at the intersection of Patpa Road, Lander Road and Young Street between 7 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 5 pm throughout the project to aid traffic flow.

We have observed that Woodend primary School experienced vehicle congestion issues with student drop offs on Monday morning, even with the traffic control in place, and as such two extra traffic controllers have since been allocated.

As suggested previously, we recommend that you allow an extra 5 to 10 minutes on all trips through this area during peak hour
