COMMUNITY UPDATE - April 2019
The City of Marion’s road network affects all residents, businesses, visitors and those who drive through the Council area to reach other destinations. Therefore, the design of our streets can have a reaching impact through providing amenity, economic development and improved community health & safety. Consequently, Council has developed a Streetscape Policy and program to revitalize its street network.
Bray Street has been identified as one of the streets Council will be improving and accordingly a plan has been developed for your consideration
Feedback received
During April 2019 we sought feedback from people about the concept for Bray street Streetscape
A raised pavement area, from Ferry Avenue to west of the shops;
A new footpath adjacent to the shops, while maintaining the parking bays;
Short sections of walls and landscaping;
Various street furniture (seats and signing);
A wide paved footpath on the north side of Bray Street, from Marion Road to Ferry Avenue;
Landscaping - additional tree planting along the road.
