The planning and construction phases of the playground is undertaken over two years.

The planning, design and consultation is undertaken this financial year (2018/19) and tender, procurement and construction of the playground will occur next financial year (2019/20).

The works are expected to be completed by the end of the 2019/20 financial year. 

The location and design complexity of the playgrounds are guided by the Playground Framework which describes the level of playgrounds and types of facilities that may exist within the playground.

This reserve is a local level playground which primarily caters for people living and working within walking distance. Although these spaces are less developed, they still provide high value play opportunities as well as contribute to environmental value through urban heat mitigation, contributing to biodiversity, and improving air quality.

As a local level reserve, the provision of a shade sail, barbecue and toilet is not able to be provided as the reserve primarily caters for people living within walking distance from homes and for shorter stays.

The closest park with these facilities is Heron Way Reserve, Hallett Cove.

Additional fencing has not been included in the draft concept designs as an analysis of the reserves and nearby road networks suggests that it is unnecessary. 

Council aims to provide open spaces that are inviting and where possible prefers the use of natural features as barriers such as garden beds and trees.

Dogs are allowed in the reserve but must remain on a leash at all times.  

Temporary fencing will be erected during construction of the playground, however you will be able to walk your dog in the reserve outside of the fenced area.
