Community Plan 2040Help Shape Marion's Future

The City of Marion of today is vastly different to that of 30 years ago – in 1982 – but the change did not occur by good luck. It happened by the choices made by you and me. The City of Marion has just completed a 6 week engagement period of its most innovative review yet of its strategic plan to map out a community for 2040!

We asked people you tell us what your street, your neighbourhood and your city might look like in 2040 and the services it will need. A series of discussion papers were developed to prompt thoughts on what will make a healthy environment, how can we build a dynamic economy, what will keep a good level of community wellbeing, or how we can maintain cultural vitality.

We are now reviewing community feedback.

All the information provided by the community will be presented to our Strategic Directions Committee in November. We will be back in touch soon with the outcomes of the engagement and a draft Community Plan for further community comment.

We want to thank you for all your feedback whether you attended at workshops, completed a postcard, wrote on our Facebook page, sent a tweet or joined the online discussion forum.

Your feedback is vital to designing a city of the future and we appreciate your input.
