About the Centre

The $13.4 million Hallett Cove, Library, Community and Enterprise Centre will be built on Ramrod Reserve adjacent to the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre and will feature:

  • A modern library with an estimated 35,000 books, e-books, magazines and DVDs.
  • Meeting rooms for businesses and community groups equipped with modern multimedia facilities.
  • Three community halls for special events, exhibitions or seminars equipped with modern multimediafacilities that can open up into two larger halls or a single large hall.
  • A room suitable for a range of training options e.g. computers, seminars and workshops.
  • High-speed wi-fi and broadband connections.

The project is funded by the City of Marion and the Australian Government under the Regional Development Initiative.

The project will deliver a multi-purpose centre to meet social and economic needs in the Southern Marion region.

The centre addresses the need to provide the small business sector with the infrastructure for meetings, training facilities, access to technology and high quality broadband connection.

It will provide a modern library service for a growing community, with the community previously serviced by a 'temporary' facility for the past twenty (20) years. It establishes well-equipped community facilities of a size to accommodate community events previously not possible in the Hallett Cove region
