Consultation has concluded

Thank you to all those who took part in this project. It has now concluded.

Collective Impact Survey

Thank you for agreeing to track how much food waste you put in your kitchen caddy for the compost and how much material is in your red-lidded rubbish bin for collection day.

Your personal household data will not be publicised and we encourage you to be as accurate as you can with your estimations.

This is the first collective impact study of urban home composting in South Australia on reducing waste to landfill and some simple data from your home is extremely valuable for informing future council programs. Altogether, there will be 150 households participating in this program over two years.

How to Record Your Data

Estimate how full (%) your kitchen caddy is the night before rubbish bin collection each week. If you empty your caddy into the compost more than once a week, keep a track of the volume each time and enter it as a weekly summary.

Estimate how full (%) your red-lidded wheelie bin is the night before collection each week. Continue to do this each week, even if you don’t put your waste bin out weekly. Record this information and the date on your Rubbish Bin Recording Sheet.

You can fill in this online survey each week or use the recording sheets sent out to you and transfer the data into this survey when you are next at a computer.

It’s a good idea to set up a recurring reminder in your phone or calendar.

Program participants who enter weekly data for the whole survey period will receive a prize.
