Lapwing Street Reserve

Have your say Lapwing Street Reserve, HALLETT COVE

A new playground and reserve upgrade is planned for Lapwing Street Reserve from July 2022.

The reserve is named after the Lapwing bird, a ground nesting bird often seen at the reserve. The upgrade has been themed around the Lapwing bird.

Share your comments to help us understand priorities for types of recreation and play at this reserve. Your feedback and votes will help influence the final design.

Local level playgrounds primarily cater to people living and working within walking distance. These spaces are less developed with limited play equipment.

The opportunity to provide feedback closes at 5pm on Friday 24 June.

Key elements of the design include:

  • A bird themed 'nest' play structure with a slide
  • Ground level birdnest themed cubby with 'play' eggs
  • Swings and monkey bars or see saw
  • Log steppers
  • Irrigation and grassed kick about area with mini soccer goal
  • Additional trees and planting and new footpath
  • New furniture including picnic table and drinking fountain

What's next?

Following this consultation, feedback will be reviewed and, where possible, incorporated into the final design.

Once the final design has been completed it will be available on the website later this year. Construction will commence in 2022/2023.
