Option 2

I love the pond / lake and have lived in the area for 27 years. I believe we have a responsibility to look after our environment for the future. So whatever is chosen it needs to be the best for the environment. I have seen how successful wetlands in many areas around Australia have been for purifying water and allowing it to travel on its natural course. The creek that flows from the pond to the sea has to be monitored and looked after also. In the years I have lived here I have noticed the dramatic decline of frogs in the lake and especially the creek. Frogs are the "litmus test" for the health of water and waterways so there is clearly a problem that needs fixing. I would support anything that uses modern water retention systems and looks after the health of the water and native wildlife in the area.

Above all I am passionate about The Kaurna people being consulted at every level of the decision making process. There are many areas along the coast of Hallett Cove that have spiritual significance to the Kaurna people and it is essential these are taken into consideration. The knowledge and understanding of the land that the older generation of Kaurna people have, is all too often undervalued.
