McConnell Avenue Reserve East, Marino I Reserve Upgrade Consultation

Thank you for your interest in the upgrade at McConnell Avenue Reserve.

Outcomes from the community consultation held from 12 November to 18 December 2020 were presented at the General Council meeting on 27 January 2021.

Council had allocated $217,000 to upgrade the eastern portion of the reserve with a multipurpose sports court, picnic area, drinking fountain, landscaping and upgrading irrigation. See latest Marino Community Update Flyer - January 2021.

Works is underway on an updated design following consultation to incorporate community feedback, where possible.
Completion of work is anticipated in late 2021.

This upgrade aligns with an Open Space Framework was recently endorsed by council to focus on achieving an equitable spread of appealing and functional open spaces across the city. Consideration was given to achieving equitable distribution of facilities across the city such as basketball courts, fitness nodes, BBQ’s and other recreational sport facilities.
