The City of Marion has completed construction for the redevelopment of Dwyer Rd Reserve.

The Project has one final stage to achieve the following benefits:

  1. Enhanced streetscapes
  2. Better pedestrian and cyclist movement
  3. Creation of a larger public park at Dwyer Road Reserve with new playground and amenities
  4. Smart technologies that enhance the experience of the precinct for the local community and visitors

Community consultation for the final stage will take place in early 2021 for the portion of Diagonal Road to create a continuous pedestrian/cyclist link from the new train station to the Regional Centre.

The redevelopment of Dwyer Road Reserve includes:

  • New playground facilities inclusive of climbing net, swings, combination play unit with slide
  • Smart technology interactive play elements
  • 3 on 3 basketball and netball
  • Solar-powered shelters with device charging stations
  • Nature play elements
  • Smart BBQ that informs of maintenance requirements and frequency of use
  • Smart lighting with dimming sensors
  • Smart irrigation system with a weather sensor and soil moisture probes.
  • Extensive landscaping, tree planting and turf
  • Walking and cycling pathways
  • Wayfinding signage
  • Creation of 7 indented car parking bays on Dwyer Rd and formalisation of 33 car parks on Diagonal Way.
