Branksome Terrace Reserve, Dover Gardens

CLOSED: This discussion has concluded.

PLAY SPACE STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION

Council has been actively implementing the Play Space Strategy and is now starting to consolidate selected playgrounds. Branksome Terrace Reserve at Dover Gardens has been identified as one reserve within Council’s Play Space Strategy that will have existing play equipment removed and minor landscaping works undertaken.

Council values the reserve, and we propose to replace the playground with a fruit orchard and picnic tables, as well as undertake minor landscaping work to ensure the reserve remains as a pleasant open space.

The play equipment at Branksome Terrace Reserve is approximately 20 years’ old, and requires removal to ensure the future safety of the community. Branksome Terrace Reserve is located close to four recently upgraded play spaces which provide a range of play opportunities.

Work is due to start in October 2013.

UPGRADED PLAY SPACES

Four reserves within approximately 450 meters to Branksome Terrace Reserve have recently been upgraded at a cost of more than $1 million and provide a range of facilities.
