Why was Railway Terrace identified for an upgrade?

Railway Terrace has been identified as a significant component of the development of the Adelaide – Marino Rocks Greenway.  Previously Council has constructed the first section of the Greenway, from Daws Road to Sixth Avenue.

Will Railway Terrace be closed and will I have access to my property?

Various work zones and part closure will necessary, at times, however access to private properties will be maintained.

Following construction will traffic movements be altered on Railway Terrace?

It is not envisaged that traffic patterns will be significantly altered.  Although it should be noted that the section of Railway Terrace, between Aberfeldy Avenue and Raglan Avenue, will be south bound only.

    What landscaping will be undertaken?

Landscaping will be upgraded along both sides of the road, as follows:

    • Eastern side, adjacent to the rail corridor - will be rationalised and enhanced, with the majority of larger trees being retained (unless diseased).  Additional Australian native trees will be planted, suitable for screening, including drooping Sheoak and Southern native pine.

    • Western side, under the power lines - Deciduous tree (Japanese Elm, Hackberry or Honey Locust).

When will construction of this project commence and conclude?

The project is scheduled to commence in March 2019 and finish in August 2019.
