    • Nature play trail
    • Seating and balancing logs
    • Native planting
    • New line markings and games on the existing basketball court
    • New pathways
    • Drinking fountain and bench seat
    • Options of basket swing or standard swing with toddler seat
    • Options of see saw or junior kangaroo rocker

For further information please refer to the concept plan.

    Who decided on this upgrade?

Council endorsed a playground upgrade for this site through the City of Marion Playground Framework in December 2017.

Will this reserve get shade sails?

No, this site is a local level playground and shade sails are endorsed for larger playgrounds only. There will be new planting and trees included for natural shade and to beautify the site.

When will this reserve be upgraded?

Construction is anticipated to start during the 2024/2025 financial year, subject to the endorsement of the City of Marion Open Space Plan review and planning for Cosgrove Hall and the T2D.

What ages or development level will this playground cater for?

This playground will cater for all ages up to 14 years old.  It will include simple and more challenging elements to ensure there are opportunities for a range of ages and development levels.  Nature play will also be provided at this site, which is a fun activity for all age groups.

When will Council be planning for the upgrade of Cosgrove Hall?

Council have proposed funding in the 2024/25 budget for concept planning / design of Cosgrove Hall.  This process will consider the needs and requirements of the user groups, and opportunities for redevelopment. This is subject to budget approvals.

Will a public toilet be included in the reserve development?

The need for a public toilet will be considered in 2024/25 as part of the Cosgrove Hall future planning.  Ideally a toilet would be incorporated into the building with external access for the general public to avoid duplication of buildings on the site.

Will there be an increase to the existing carparking?

Future planning for Cosgrove Hall will consider carparking requirements based on potential usage of the facility.  As the Graham Watts Reserve is a local level reserve upgrade, there are no plans to increase carparking as part of this project. This is subject to budget approvals.

The site is close to the T2D project, what opportunities will there be in planning for Graham Watts Reserve?

The interface with the T2D project has been considered in the design for Graham Watts Reserve.  Council will continue seek partnership opportunities to work with Department for Infrastructure and Transport on the development of Graham Watts Reserve and associated projects including Cosgrove Hall improvements.
