Background

The Warradale Park Tennis Club (WPTC) is a well-established community tennis club with a membership of approximately 160 members located on Gardiner Avenue, Warradale SA.

In February 2018, the Council upgraded the court surfaces, court lighting and fences as part of a three-year works program for Tennis and Netball Facilities.

In 2021 the WPTC developed a Stage 2 proposal to refurbish the existing clubroom which submitted to the Council. The proposal included refurbishing the ground floor to provide administration, bar and dining facilities, bathrooms, changerooms, and storage, as well as a new first-floor function room with spectator facilities.

To progress the project Council and the State Government of South Australia are jointly investing in the clubroom redevelopment.

The redevelopment includes:

  • Refurbishment of the ground floor function and bar areas
  • Investigate options to either enclose or improve the upper level overlooking the courts
  • Installing compliant male/female/accessible toilets, change rooms and showers
  • Providing a new accessible external public toilet
  • Ensure compliant access is available to the second floor
  • Improved storage
  • Improved access and pedestrian movements around the site
