Mike Turtur Bikeway - notification of works

Public consultation was conducted in Aug/Sept 2012 and responses were received via on-line, hard copy feedback forms, email submissions, written submissions and 2 drop in sessions.

WHERE TO FROM HERE?

In Nov/Dec, a public tender process for the projects was conducted and the successful contractors were recently appointed. Works will now commence as soon as practicable in January 2013.

Completion date for the projects is June 2013 and we are confident that we can meet this time frame, with planting occurring soon after the major works are completed.

Upon completion of the Sturt River path, pedestrians and cyclists will be able to safely walk and cycle along the Sturt River, connecting with the Westside Bikeway to the north/north east and the Sturt River Linear Park to the south.

These projects are our contribution to the expanding network of safer walking and cycling areas in metropolitan Adelaide, to encourage behavioural change, reduce car use and emissions, improve our health, our well being and enhance community interaction.
