The City of Marion is working in partnership with Renewal SA and Peet Ltd to develop the Tonsley Innovation precinct. The Master Plan for the precinct provides 11 hectares of residential development that Peet Ltd is developing. The residential development will incorporate green open spaces and walking / cycling connections.
The new Tonsley Village Central Reserve and upgraded Cohen Court Reserve will provide regional open space for the City of Marion community. It includes a range of recreation experiences including play, fitness and amenities for social gathering and relaxation.
The design considers the distribution of play equipment and associated amenities through the Tonsley Village Central Reserve connecting and integrating Cohen Court Reserve. The concept illustrates the removal of the existing fence between Tonsley Village and Cohen Court Reserve whilst upgrading equipment, pathways and amenity within Cohen Court Reserve.
Key design features include:
Integrated open space precincts including fitness, activity hub with BBQs and shelters, village green, kick about lawn, terraced play zone
Pathway connections to Cohen Court
Public art that interprets the history of the area
Cohen Court Reserve upgrades including play structure (with slides and climbing elements), spinner, basket swing, nature play, shelter, irrigated lawn, natural landscaping and park furniture
Public toilet options
Pedestrian and cyclist pathways with lighting
