Cormorant Drive Reserve Upgrade

About the project:

Construction of Cormorant Drive Reserve, Hallett Cove, is complete!

Key elements of the design include:

• Diprotodon sculpture climb
• Diprotodon sand pit 
• Hill Slide
• Swings
• Megafauna interactive search and find game
• Nature play rocks and logs
• Extension of existing rubble path
• New Picnic Table and Bench Seat
• Drinking fountain

The reserve has an interesting history with a Diprotodon (Giant Wombat) fossil remains found here in 1992. This Australian megafauna was the world’s largest marsupial and lived between 150,000-10,000 years ago. The playground will have an exciting and educational Diprotodon theme, making it a truly unique reserve.

Community Engagement Phase

A draft concept design was available for community feedback. During consultation, a community drop in session was held at Cormorant Drive Reserve on Thursday 2 December 4-6pm. Consultation closed on 21 December 2021.
