In recent months council has undertaken a planning study specifically looking at how the Edwardstown Business Precinct can be improved.

Council is seeking to better understand the impact of traffic flows and parking have on local businesses and have reached out to owners and operators about the specific challenges they face moving around the area, and how these issues can be overcome.

While not all suggestions from the community will be practical or affordable but we know there are plenty of good ideas.

A survey has been undertaken that relates to the area between South Road and the rail line and between Cross Road and Daws Road.

Thank you to our business community members who provided us with feedback on the traffic related activities within Edwardstown. Some of the key feedback received include:

  • 83% of participants stated that they had access to off-street parking
  • businesses identified a need for additional parking and loading zones
  • a majority of respondents identified parking at junctions as an issue

Council are considering next steps including:

  • an audit of line marking and signage to be undertaken in January 2022
  • additional yellow lines at junctions
  • further consultation on specific solutions

We will continue to provide updates in the Edwardstown eNews. To subscribe please contact us by email.
