Have your say on the future of the current Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre.
The Council own and operate the Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre located at 1 Cumbria Court, Mitchell Park.
In 2022, the new purpose built $15million Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre will open and the Mitchell Park Neighbour Centre will be relocating to the new venue.
The Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre will continue to deliver a diverse and accessible range of social, recreational and educational activities and programs. These programs aim to develop personal growth, wellbeing and a sense of identity and community for varied groups and individuals within our community.
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from community focused organisations for lease or licence of the Cumbria Court premises.
We invite residents and community members to provide feedback which will assist Council in deciding the future use of the existing Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre site.
Options for consideration are:
Retain the building and land - Council consider expressions of interest from community focused organisations for the Lease or Licence of the premises.
Retain the building and adjacent land - Council continues to maintain and operate as a bookable space for the community.
Remove the building - Convert to Open Space and combine with adjacent reserve.
Remove the building - Sell all or part of the Council Land portion.
We invited you to provide your feedback by participating in a short survey - closing date 29 April 2022.
If you would like to visit the site administration staff will be available to facilitate this on:
Tuesday 5 April at 2pm-3pm
