Help to shape your space - Weaver Street Reserve, EDWARDSTOWN

Weaver Street Reserve in Edwardstown has a playground and tennis courts which are due to be renewed in 2022/23. We wanted resident's thoughts on our draft concept to help understand priorities for sports and play at this reserve. The opportunity to provide feedback has closed.

This playground upgrade will involve removal of the existing tennis courts and compact dirt underneath the courts. Significant costs are involved in this removal to properly prepare the soil and allow for future growth (grass, plants, trees).

Edwardstown has a high thermal index and low vegetation - it is a hot dry area with less tree canopy. To improve this, a significant amount of trees are planned for this reserve upgrade. These will benefit the new look reserve through their shade, appearance and the contribution they make to the environment, improving the microclimate of the area.

The intent of this draft design is to improve sports, amenities and play along with overall landscaping.

Your feedback and votes will help influence the final design.

The opportunity to provide feedback closed on 20 December.

What's next?

Consultation comments will be considered and a final design will be completed in 2021/22.

Once the final design has been developed it will be loaded onto the website. Construction is anticipated to start in 2022/23.
