McConnell Avenue Reserve West, Marino | Proposed Revocation and Disposal of Land

PROJECT UPDATE

The outcomes from fthe community consultation held 12 November to 18 December 2020 were presented at the General Council meeting on 27 January 2021.

Council resolved to retain the western portion of McConnell Avenue Reserve whilst undertaking a revised evaluation of the facilities and upgrades at the reserve as a whole, commencing in the months following the completion of the budgeted upgrade works on the eastern portion of the reserve, which are scheduled to be completed before Christmas 2021.

Council voted to adjourn a decision on the western portion of the reserve until the General Council meeting in February 2022.

PROPOSED REVOCATION AND DISPOSAL OF COMMUNITY LAND
LOT 189 MCCONNELL AVENUE, MARINO
(MCCONNELL AVENUE RESERVE WEST, MARINO)

$217,000 upgrade due to be completed this December. Work to improve the eastern portion of the reserve, including with a multipurpose court, picnic area, drink fountain, landscaping and upgrading irrigation will begin soon.

Council sought the views of local residents on significantly upgrading the eastern portion and selling the western portion of the reserve late last year.

On 27 January this year, Council voted to adjourn a decision on the western portion of the reserve until February 2022.

Community consultation has now closed.
