PLAY SPACE STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION -MYERS ROAD RESERVE
Council has been actively implementing the Play Space Strategy and is now starting to consolidate selected playgrounds. Myers Road Reserve at Sturt has been identified as one reserve within Council’s Play Space Strategy that will have existing play equipment removed and minor landscaping works undertaken.
Council values the reserve, and we propose to replace the playground with plantings, a picnic table and bench, as well as undertake minor landscaping work to ensure the reserve remains as a pleasant open space.
The play equipment at Myers Road Reserve is in poor condition, and requires removal to ensure the future safety of the community. Myers Road Reserve is located close to five recently upgraded play spaces, including Brolga Place Reserve which is located within 300 metres and provides a range of play opportunities.
Work is due to start in October 2013
UPGRADED PLAY SPACES
Five reserves within approximately 1 km to Myers Road Reserve have recently been upgraded at a cost of more than $1.2 million and provide a range of facilities
